Hi.

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you have any great tips or experiences I should check out. Always looking for more fun in Napa and beyond!

Castello di Amoroso

Castello di Amoroso

I love to bring visitors here, especially families. Avoid weekends if you can, or you really will feel like you are at Disneyland, but midweek is ok. You must make a reservation as you can only see the castle by signing up for the tour. The castle is as huge as it is astounding and authentic. Every bit of it was built by artisans brought over from Italy and Europe using imported materials. Some of the collections are authentic antiques, while some are excellent reproductions. The tour takes you through dusty catacombs and caves, the barrel room, and the highlight for the kids….a torture chamber. On the tour there is always a chance to try a wine still in the barrel, which is always a fun experience. At the end of the tour, you have a chance to sample their wines, all of which are excellent and can only be purchased at the castle. I always upgrade to the premium tasting, but if your guests are not big wine collectors then the standard pour is just fine. The best part of the castle is they offer their own homemade sparking grape juice for the non drinkers, and its quite good. You can also opt for the chocolate pairing. Of course, just like at Disneyland, you end up in the gift shop - but it’s a good one, one of the best and largest winery gift shops in the valley. Finally, save time upon exit to pet the animals…goats, sheep, etc.

Great for Families, Great for Designated Drivers or light drinkers
